5 Tips To Being A Weekend Warrior

December 2, 2019 – by Primo Management Group

You’ve heard people talk about being a weekend warrior. You are almost annoyed with it because somehow your weekends are used for catching up on work, chores, errands and fixing up the house. How can people turn weekends into mini vacations? It doesn’t seem realistic and you cannot figure out how to make it work for you based on time and money. The good news is that there are things you can do that will help you to turn your weekends into real adventures and it starts with following these tips:

Start waking up early: This may be the toughest one, but it’s needed. Waking up earlier gives you more time to get things done in the morning whether it’s working out, cooking lunch and dinner which will help you to save money, getting laundry done or something else. It also helps you to feel less rushed in the morning.

Put in at least one hour of work when you get home: This one is also challenging but the chores, errands and other things you usually save for the weekend need to be done during the week, either before or after work. This includes grocery shopping.

Start cooking at home more: We mentioned meal prepping but cooking more at home is important. Why? Because it allows you to save time and money. Think of the time it takes or the money it costs to eat at restaurants or order delivery even every week? Planning your meals ahead of time saves money that can be used for your weekend getaways.

Find groups who like to do things on weekends: Another way to become more of a weekend warrior is to join people who already are. Doing things as a group gives you more motivation than if you were doing them yourself.

Look at local memberships and discounts for activities: There are certain attractions and events that give discounts if you sign up for memberships or if you live locally. Find those out on social media and add them to your weekend plans.

Weekends are not meant to catch up on work or to spend all day on your couch watching television. Yes, every once in a while, you will have to get things done that have been put off for a while or you need to just relax and take some time for yourself. However, your goal every month should be to spend at least one or two weekends a month outside, enjoying things that you have an interest in.
