Florida is known for a lot of things, including some
interesting residents who from time to time make an appearance on the local
news. However, it’s also known for sunshine, beaches and plenty of travel
destinations. There are theme parks, great colleges, amazing sites, outdoor adventures,
a space program and so much more. Who wouldn’t want to spend their vacations
here? Like with anywhere, there are a few issues that come up with vacationing,
including the cost of a hotel.
During season, hotel prices can double or triple, making it very expensive for anyone to enjoy even a few days, much less a week. In many ways, this is the main reason why timeshares are so popular here. The appeal of owning (kind of) a property that makes it more affordable to vacation here and allow you to come and go as you please. The idea sounds great but there are a few problems that people usually don’t become aware of until after they’ve signed up for a timeshare with a resort.
One of the main issues is the cost of living. Florida keeps its
taxes low because the cost of living is so high, and it relies on tourism
dollars. That’s great for full-time residents, but not so much for visitors
from out of the state. These resorts are not going to be able to get you a deal
on taxes and insurance for the property. Along with that, you have the issue of
maintenance fees going up every year. The people taking care of the lawn,
cleaning the pools, handling security and processing all that paperwork are
going to want raises. The resort has no problem taking care of them because
they are passing on the cost to you.
The longer you own the property, the more expensive it
becomes and technically you do not even own it. Does that seem like a great
deal? Another issue that comes up is if you do not want to go to Florida for
your next vacation. Perhaps your family wants to go somewhere else this year
and now you are stuck trying to find someone to buy your week from you.
These are things that come up for every timeshare owner and
they come to like their deal less and less the longer they hang onto it. If you
are considering buying a timeshare you need to consider these issues before purchasing
one. If you’ve already purchased your timeshare and you want to get out of it,
then Primo Management Group is here to help you exit your deal.
