Travel Plans For 2020, Start Saving Now
Traveling has never been easier. We can select a destination, book a flight, reserve a hotel and even get tickets to our favorite attractions all from our phone. Finding deals is also easier than ever as businesses are battling to get us to sign up. They want your business and they know the only way they can do that is by offering you something that everyone else can’t whether it’s cheaper deals or more bang for your buck. As you look for ways to save before and during your vacation, you should follow these tips to try and give yourself the best possible deals:
Find a hotel chain, not just the best prices: Sometimes we make the mistake of looking for the best prices rather than the best deal. A major hotel chain may not have the cheapest prices, but what they do have are reward points. If you plan on doing a lot of traveling in 2020 then why not use those reward points to get free accommodations or discounts?
Research different destinations and attractions: Whenever you have a few destinations in mind you should research the attractions of that area. For example, if you’re interested in traveling somewhere because you want to visit theme parks, try to get an idea of when prices might be lower, attendance might be lower, you can get better offers for visiting or have the opportunity to enjoy different options that are available.
Try to find ways to save before and during the vacation: Saving your money is always a top priority and one of the things you can do to reduce your costs while on vacation is to make sure you’ve packed plenty of things like sunscreen, extra clothes, any over-the-counter medications you may need as well as know where the local grocery stores are. If you are traveling with your family, a local grocery store can save you hundreds of dollars on a vacation.
Get out of your timeshare: The easiest way to save for your big travel and vacation plans for next year is by getting out of your timeshare agreement. If you have already committed to one it not only dictates where you’ll be spending your vacation time next year, but it already eats up a large portion of your vacation and travel budget.
Try not to forget that vacations are a time when you should stop worrying about money, work, bills, responsibilities and enjoy yourself. However, if you can enjoy the same vacation and save 10% to 20% of the costs it will make it even more enjoyable.
