How to find local hotspots when traveling
Traveling can be fun but one or the problems is that your are constantly ending up in touristy areas. Theme parks, restaurants, attractions and sites around town are all the same when you get to it. You want to find things that really stand out about a community and make it more of a real trip than just visiting the same places. You want to find the local hotspots and there are a few things you can do that will make that easier.
Social media is one or the best places to start. Just search by the name or the town you are visiting and try some other keywords or hashtags that may apply. Restaurants is an easy example because people always tag local spots they love to eat. This is a great way to get away from the chains and more traditional places you usually go when traveling. You can also find some great places to go as well.
Heading to Google and reading some blogs locals have written or travelers have posted is another option and it’s great because they can show you exactly where to go and who to contact for more information. You’ll also find some great information on these sites as far as the best time of year to travel to see these attractions.
If you like fairs or festivals, try using google and local town event calendars to find those as well. It’s a big help and make make planning your next trip easy. Hopefully these tips will help you not only plan your next trip much faster but also give you a great experience as you visit a new destination. Remember to always check online for times and what time or the year certain things are available so that you do not miss them.
