Pandemic or no pandemic, people will travel during the holiday. The coronavirus has been the dominant topic the entire year but has now begun to show new rises in numbers which could go up as cold weather arrives. While traveling will not be encouraged, it certainly will not be stopped. That means people will be traveling to see their family during the holidays, students coming home from college and so forth.
If you’re travel plans have not changed and your fully expect to fly or drive to family during the end of the year, you may want to follow some simple but important tips to hopefully protect you and your family from covid-19. First, make sure that you have extra masks on you at all times. You never know when yours might accidentally fall off or get knocked off as you are flying and you want to have a spare you can easily grab.
Hand sanitizer is great but also try to have wipes with you if possible. These wipes will give you more of a clean feeling on your hands and can also be healthier to use before you eat. At least a month before your trip, if not now, start taking vitamin c every day. These vitamins will strengthen your immune system and improve your energy during the day. That’s also a great time to start getting used to charging and using backup batteries for your electronics. Waiting until the day you leave may not be enough time to get the backups charged for your trip.
If you’re driving you also want to make sure that you pack as much food and beverages as you can because it will reduce the number of stops you need to make. Keep stops in public places limited to restroom use can be a big help in minimizing your interaction with the public. Stocking your car with extra warm clothes is also smart because you may like to change during the day after you’ve been out to restaurants or somewhere else. Many feel that changing clothes after visiting a public place is a smart precaution to avoid contracting the virus.
As you look for other tips for traveling during the coronavirus be sure to call your doctor and ask if there’s any recommendations they would have based on your health. Never take things for granted and when in doubt, wear a mask and wash your hands.
